## Tragic Incident at Artis Restaurant and Lounge

A devastating drive-by shooting took place at Artis Restaurant and Lounge in Chicago, claiming the lives of four individuals. The unfortunate event occurred during an album release party hosted by rapper Mello Buckzz. Fourteen others sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals. As of now, no suspects have been arrested; an unidentified number of shooters in a vehicle opened fire on the crowd outside the venue.

Among the victims were Mello Buckzz’s partner and best friend. In an emotional Instagram post, she expressed her grief, saying, “We was having so much fun in our private little life, couldn’t leave each other alone, glued to my hip every day. It’s not a night we ain’t spent together.” She conveyed her anger and confusion, sharing intimate moments captured in videos. “I’m so fucking angry. You were awake; I held your hand until I couldn’t. You talked to me. Clearly, I don’t get it, boo, I’m messed up,” she wrote.

Heartbroken, she shared multiple stories showcasing cherished moments with close friends. “My heart broke into so many pieces right now; it’s unbelievable,” she added. “Why is this happening to me?”

## Eyewitness Accounts of Chaos

In the aftermath, the scene was described as chaotic. Pastor Donovan Price, who arrived shortly after the shooting, stated, “When I got there last night, it was absolute chaos, from people screaming to blood on the streets, to people lying on the street … The worst I’ve seen — just people wanting to find their loved ones, looking for who was alive, and looking for their phones because they dropped them in the chaos.”

## Casualty Overview

The shooting resulted in severe injuries. A 24-year-old man and two adult women were shot in the chest, while a 25-year-old man was struck in the head. Unfortunately, all four succumbed to their injuries. Three others remain in critical condition, two are serious, and eight are stable following the incident that occurred around 11 p.m. CT on July 2.
