Top Aussie Artists Urge Fans to ‘Ausify Your Algorithm’ Today!
Australian Musicians Unite for #AUSIFY Campaign
A Call to Action
Prominent Australian artists, including Thelma Plum, Keli Holiday, G Flip, and Ben Lee, are coming together to encourage Australians to “AUSIFY” their social media algorithms. Their goal is to promote outstanding local music and ensure it receives the attention it deserves.
The Statistics Behind the Movement
Currently, only a small fraction—less than 10%—of the music streamed by Australians is homegrown. This campaign aims to shift that statistic, particularly during the celebration of Ausmusic Month in November. The artists believe that by searching for, listening to, and supporting local talent, they can amplify Aussie music across the nation.
Engaging the Community
A wealth of digital content, collaborations, and surprise live performances will take place throughout Ausmusic Month. This initiative encourages Australians to explore local talent and diversify their music feeds. By emphasizing the rich tapestry of Australia’s music scene, the campaign seeks to celebrate hundreds of artists all month long.
Strength in Numbers
The #AUSIFY message will be widely promoted through the efforts of artists, managers, promoters, festivals, venues, and various industry partners. Key players include radio stations, streaming platforms, and some of Australia’s favorite brands, all coming together to support local music.
Artists Speak Out
Thelma Plum highlights the depth of Australian music, stating, “Everyone knows how good Australian music is, and the more you explore it, the more it gives back.” As a 15-time ARIA nominee, she emphasizes that the campaign serves to remind fans of how easily they can discover and support local artists.
Adam Hyde of Keli Holiday, riding high after the success of his single “Dancing2,” adds that the campaign extends beyond streaming. He encourages fans to attend shows, create playlists, and share music with friends. “Let’s keep our Australian talent in the conversation,” he urges, calling for collective support to ensure that local music isn’t overlooked.
Making It Easy to Participate
To facilitate involvement, the #AUSIFY website will provide a step-by-step guide on how to enhance social media algorithms, alongside curated Ausify playlists. Additionally, the campaign features the ‘Ausifyer,’ a live generator offering a continuous stream of Australian music recommendations for listeners to enjoy.
Kickoff Event
To mark the launch of the #AUSIFY campaign, Keli Holiday and music advocate Ash McGregor will host an interactive pop-up on Saturday, November 1st, in Sydney. From 9–10 am outside Bondi Pavilion, they invite the public to join in, share their favorite Australian tracks, and celebrate local music together.
