The Lumineers to Kick Off World Tour in Australia and New Zealand
The Lumineers have officially revealed their upcoming world tour, which will take them to Australia and New Zealand.
Presented by Frontier Touring, this acclaimed folk-rock duo from the United States will perform in several cities, including Christchurch, Auckland, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth in January. This tour marks their long-awaited return to both countries, with their last visit occurring in 2022.
The tour will take place after an extensive series of performances in large venues across North America and Mexico, featuring 29 additional shows from August to November.
Notably, this tour celebrates The Lumineers’ 20th anniversary. Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites formed the duo back in 2005 in New Jersey.
Their self-titled debut album took the music world by storm in 2012. It became a fundamental part of the 2010s indie-folk movement, standing alongside notable acts like Of Monsters and Men and Mumford and Sons.
Featuring the beloved hit “Ho Hey,” the debut album reached #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and achieved triple-platinum status in Canada, platinum in the UK and Ireland, and gold in Australia.
In the past two decades, The Lumineers have amassed over 6 billion streams across five albums, earning two Grammy nominations, five Billboard Music Awards nominations, and one American Music Award nomination.
Their latest album, Automatic, which is their first release in three years, debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200. The lead single, “Same Old Song,” climbed to the top of Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart.
