The Dare Confesses Love for Kacey Musgraves and Shares Tips for Justin Bieber

## Music Exploration

After hitting shuffle on his playlist, the first track that emerged was Kacey Musgraves’ “Velvet Elvis.” While The Dare praises Musgraves’ Grammy-winning album as one of the finest ever, he admits that this particular song isn’t his top pick.

### A Playful Introduction to Country

“It’s a very playful and slightly more dancey track, I suppose,” he shares. Reflecting on his past, he mentioned, “I used to listen to it while driving around the Pacific Northwest. I feel like it served as a gateway into country music for me.” His favorites from *Golden Hour* include “Mother” and “Love Is a Wild Thing.”

He adds, “I love the entire record. It’s pretty incredible from start to finish.”

### Thoughts on New Releases

Next up was “405” from the latest Justin Bieber album, which he felt “could have used a bit of editing.”

“I had the chance to listen to the full album during a flight back from Japan last week. I ended up dozing off at some point, perhaps due to jet lag or the soothing vibes of *SWAG*,” he explains. “I enjoyed the first half and liked the singles ‘Daisies’ and ‘Yukon.’ But the album is quite lengthy. Unless an album carries a conceptual theme, I generally prefer records with 12 to 14 tracks.”

### Optimal Album Length

The Dare believes the ideal album length is between nine and 14 songs. “I think the runtime should be under forty minutes,” he notes. “*SWAG* doesn’t feel excessively long, just filled with numerous tracks.”

## Upcoming Projects

The Dare is gearing up for the release of his EP *Freakquencies: Vol. 1* later this month. He also explored tracks by Royal Headache, Dream Caster, and Jarvis Cocker before sharing his experience working with PinkPantheress on her song “Stateside.”

### Collaboration Insights

“Vicky is amazing. We share great banter. Collaborating with her is easy and enjoyable,” The Dare comments. He recalls, “There were nerves on the first day, but the good kind that drives productivity and excitement to create together.” During his tour in the U.S., he mentioned, “We became pen pals of sorts and wrapped up the song. She’s truly the best.”
