Box Office Breakdown

According to Maddock Films, Thamma earned 25.11 crore net (around 30 crore gross) domestically on its opening day. Although initial showings saw low attendance with about 15-16% occupancy, numbers surged to over 40% in the evening, thanks to positive reviews.

Internationally, the film’s performance was modest, raking in just under $250K, which aligns with expectations since Diwali isn’t a holiday worldwide. Despite this, Thamma’s overall first-day collection ranked among the highest for Indian films this year, surpassing notable titles like Saiyaara, Stree, and Bhediya.

Film Synopsis and Reception

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma tells the story of two vampire lovers, played by Ayushmann and Rashmika, who must contend with a rival vampire, portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. With cameos from Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Banerjee, the film has received praise for its humor, visual effects, and engaging narrative.

As a part of the Maddock universe, Thamma aims to expand its horror comedy genre with unique storytelling and appealing performances from its cast. It remains to be seen how the film will continue to perform in the upcoming days—will it maintain its momentum, or will audiences lose interest?
