The film, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, generated a total of ₹108.4 crore during its first week. On day 11, it earned ₹3 crore, followed by ₹4.4 crore on day 12. The preliminary figures for day 13 suggest earnings of approximately ₹3.85 crore across India, bringing the cumulative total to ₹119.65 crore.
As the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, *Thamma* features notable actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. The film’s narrative centers on Ayushmann’s character, who morphs into a vampire and navigates a “bloody love story” involving Rashmika. His role transitions from a timid journalist to a supernatural entity.
In an interview with ANI, Ayushmann expressed, “I am feeling good. Validation by the public is the biggest validation… For me, this is the biggest opening of my career.” Excited about departing from his usual roles, he remarked, “This film allowed me to shift from the ‘guy next door’ to a character with vampire-like features, which I have never done before.
