Taylor Swift has been busy creating her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, while also on her monumental Eras Tour in Europe. In a recent episode of her New Heights podcast, she shared exciting details about her creative process during this intense schedule.
Touring and Creating
“I would be playing shows. I would do like three shows in a row. I’d have three days off,” Swift explained. During these brief breaks, she made trips to Sweden to work on her 12th studio album. Despite the physical exhaustion from touring, she felt invigorated by the creative process.
Swift is set to conclude her Eras Tour in December 2024, following an impressive 149 shows globally. This summer, she performed across Europe, including eight memorable shows in London during June and August.
Behind the Scenes
On the podcast, Swift remarked, “This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.” She emphasized that the album captures the joy and drama of her experiences, delivering a rich and uplifting sound.
Earlier in the episode, she revealed the track list for The Life of a Showgirl on her social media platform. “And, baby, that’s show business for you,” she posted, also announcing the album’s release date of October 3.

Swift shared the captivating album cover, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, which showcases her floating underwater with the album title presented in bright orange lettering.
The Life of a Showgirl includes 12 tracks, featuring the title track with Sabrina Carpenter. Co-produced by Swift alongside Shellback and Max Martin, the album features songs like “Eldest Daughter,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wi$h Li$t,” and the opening track, “The Fate of Ophelia.” This album marks her return since 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department.
