Reports state that sales for the opening day have reached ₹29.32 lakh, which is decent but may not meet the expectations for a festive release.

While the filmmakers hope for increased momentum as the release date approaches, romantic comedies often rely heavily on positive word-of-mouth rather than an explosive opening.

According to industry experts, as more screens for Kantara Chapter 1 become available, its success may widen the gap in ticket sales between the two films.

Kantara Chapter 1, scripted and directed by Rishab Shetty, delves into the roots of the story portrayed in the original film, set a millennium earlier. Rishab Shetty returns in a different role alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah.

Conversely, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari showcases Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor as two characters attempting to reconnect with their former partners, played by Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf.
