The romantic comedy film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, has struggled to make a notable impact at the box office. Despite its release on October 2, this film has yet to cross the ₹40 crore mark.
After receiving mixed reviews, the film experienced a lackluster opening weekend. The dip in audience turnout has been significant, particularly during the weekdays. As it stands, the film’s total collection is approximately ₹38.58 crore, with a mere ₹2.08 crore earned on its seventh day, marking the lowest single-day collection to date.
The film opened with ₹9.25 crore on its first day, followed by ₹5.5 crore on the second day. There was a slight improvement over the weekend with collections of ₹7.5 crore on Day 3 and ₹7.75 crore on Day 4. However, competition from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 has significantly impacted its performance. Kantara emerged as a blockbuster, overshadowing Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari at the box office.
This romantic comedy follows the journey of Sunny (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) as they attempt to rekindle past relationships with their ex-partners, Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) and Vikram (Rohit Saraf). Their attempts to pose as a couple lead to a series of humorous misunderstandings. Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions, the film features a talented cast, including Akshay Oberoi, Maneish Paul, and Abhinav Sharma.
