Stereophonics Cancel 2025 Australia Tour Due to Health Concerns
Stereophonics will unfortunately not be performing in Australia. The Welsh rock band shared this disappointing update on their social media platforms on October 9th, with lead singer Kelly Jones expressing his heartfelt sentiments to fans.
“I am gutted, saddened, and disappointed to inform you all that the upcoming shows in Australia and Dubai are cancelled due to a displaced jaw joint (not caused by singing, folks — just one of life’s tense dizzying mysteries!)” Jones shared.
He explained, “Flying long distances is not medically advised.” Jones reassured fans that “refunds will be given at the point of purchase,” and emphasized that their December UK tour is still on track as planned.
This decision marks a rare instance for the band. “I have cancelled no more than four shows in 30 years, and I hope you understand that this decision was not made lightly,” he said. “I work hard to put on a great show every night, with preparation starting from the morning until showtime.”
“I value you as audience members and respect my crew and bandmates too much to travel with any uncertainty.” He concluded his message with “Love and good health to you all.”
The Stereophonics were set to perform in several Australian cities this month, including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Fremantle. This tour would have marked their first performances in Australia since 2019.

“We’ve always been a band, you know, even if we have a new record out; we’ve never shied away from playing everything off the catalogue,” he shared. “The catalogue is like a revolving door. We’ll be playing about 20 to 24 songs each night, keeping a skeleton of all the big hits and flipping in a few here and there.”
“It’s going to be a fantastic night out, and people will leave singing and feeling better than when they arrived. That’s really the whole point,” he added.
