The Malaysian entertainment scene was shaken last Thursday when popular singer Shila Amzah shared an Instagram Story of her concert rehearsal. The post included a caption that read: “Moments before being attacked by someone legendary but [is] no longer on my list.”

The 34-year-old singer stated that this “legendary” figure had approached her and reportedly shouted, “I’ve been looking for you for a long time. Wait and see what’ll happen to you.”

This confrontation triggered her anxiety, raising concerns about her safety, prompting Shila to file a police report that same day.

Investigation revealed that the musician was upset over Shila’s alleged involvement in his family’s issues.

As news spread, social media users began speculating about who this musician could be, making numerous guesses about his identity.

Shila Identifies the Musician

During an interview on July 14, Shila Amzah identified the musician involved as “the father of [actress] Nabila Huda.” Nabila is the daughter of renowned Malaysian rock icon Amy Search.

Shila reported that around 30 to 40 people were present during the incident, including Amy Search’s wife, who allegedly glared at her throughout.

Following the event, many artists reached out to Shila to express solidarity, sharing they had faced similar experiences in the industry.

Background of the Verbal Assault

The verbal altercation is believed to stem from an April incident where Shila expressed empathy for Nabila Huda after her candid interview regarding her family situation, which included veiled criticisms about her stepmother, Amy Search’s current wife.

During the recent interview, Shila clarified, “I agreed with a point made during Nabila’s interview, as I too have faced similar family challenges.”

Shila’s father, ND Lala, divorced her mother in 2023, later marrying a close friend of Shila’s, adding complexity to the family dynamics.

Future Reconciling Chances

Shila Amzah expressed her willingness to reconcile with Amy Search, provided there is a change in his behavior. She stated, “This incident should not have occurred in our industry, regardless of status.”
