Composer Shashwat Sachdev, known for his contributions to films like *Uri: The Surgical Strike* and *The Ba***ds of Bollywood*, is making waves across oceans. He is currently working on the title theme for the British series *Virdee*, alongside renowned Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer.
Reflecting on this milestone, Shashwat expressed, “The joy of composing across continents shows that great sound transcends language—it only requires authenticity. From Mumbai to Los Angeles, the beat remains unchanged. This collaboration was filled with humility and pride—music is not created, it is experienced.”
He further stated, “I often feel like a nomad, a gypsy exploring various cultural landscapes and musical realms. Working alongside Hans and James has been an exceptional journey.”
This six-part British crime drama stars Staz Nair as a detective chasing down a serial killer targeting the Asian community in Bradford. The series features an ensemble cast of Asian actors in the UK and is adapted from A A Dhand’s crime novels set in Bradford.
This collaboration isn’t Zimmer’s first with an Indian artist. He is set to make his Bollywood debut working with AR Rahman on the score for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project, *Ramayana*.
Nitesh Tiwari remarked, “This project is more than just a film. It aims to cross borders while respecting the essence of our culture.” The film will be released in two parts during Diwali in 2026 and 2027, featuring notable stars like Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram.
