Shah Rukh & Kajol Bring DDLJ Magic to Filmfare Awards Stage
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol evoke 90s nostalgia at the Filmfare Awards.
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan made a spectacular comeback as the host of the Filmfare Awards 2025. The event, held in Ahmedabad, was dominated by the movie *Laapataa Ladies*, which earned 13 awards. Yet, the highlight was undoubtedly the delightful interaction between Shah Rukh and his famed co-star, Kajol.

Kajol’s arrival on stage to present an award was met with excitement as the set was decorated with sunflowers and dancers. As the iconic song “Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam” from *Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge* played, Shah Rukh entered, dancing and dramatically presenting a rose to Kajol, recreating a legendary scene from the film.
The duo then performed “Ye Ladki Hai Deewani” from *Kuch Kuch Hota Hai*, with the film’s director, Karan Johar, cheering them on.
Fans react
Fans expressed their delight over these nostalgic moments. One user commented, “A cute SRK Kajol moment? In this economy??” while another said, “Uff, this nostalgia and the happiness I get from these people, that’s why I’ll never move on from Bollywood.” Some humorously remarked, “Move over, Belly Conrad, the OGs are here.”
Shah Rukh and Kajol’s on-screen chemistry remains unparalleled, with their last collaboration being in *Dilwale* back in 2016. One fan expressed a desire to see them together in a new movie, urging Karan Johar to make it happen.
Reflecting on Shah Rukh’s recent reunions with both Kajol and Madhuri Dixit, fans noted they are getting memorable moments from award shows rather than from his films. “We are getting better SRK content from the film awards than in the movies now,” one commented, wishing for similar nostalgic moments with other actresses as well.
The duo first starred together in *Baazigar* in 1993 and went on to deliver numerous blockbusters in the 90s, including *Karan Arjun*, *DDLJ*, *Kuch Kuch Hota Hai*, *Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham*, and *Dilwale*.
