Security Sweep at Chennai Homes of Rajinikanth and Dhanush Following Email Hoax
Police Conduct Security Sweep at Rajinikanth and Dhanush’s Homes Due to Bomb Hoax
Recent bomb threats have put several Chennai celebrities and politicians on high alert, with Rajinikanth and Dhanush being the latest to be affected.
Details of the Bomb Threats
According to reports, unknown individuals sent emails to the Director General of Police (DGP). These messages claimed that explosives had been planted at the homes of both Rajinikanth and Dhanush, as well as at the residence of K Sevalperunthagai, the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president.
Upon receiving the emails, Teynampet police conducted a security check at Rajinikanth’s house with a bomb detection unit. Security personnel at the home confirmed that no unauthorized individuals had gained access, indicating that the threat was likely a hoax. The police also investigated the residences of other individuals mentioned in the emails, finding no evidence of any explosives.
Context of Recent Bomb Threats in Tamil Cinema
This incident follows a series of bomb threats targeting a number of prominent figures in Chennai. On October 2, similar emails were sent to the DGP regarding several VIPs’ residences, including actress Trisha Krishnan’s home.
On October 9, a 37-year-old man named Shabik was arrested for making threats involving actor Vijay’s home. Following that, on October 14, Ilaiyaraaja’s studio was also targeted. Police investigations revealed that all of these threats were unfounded. Numerous politicians, including Chief Minister MK Stalin, have also faced hoax threats recently.
Currently, Rajinikanth is busy filming for “Jailer 2” after his recent performance in “Coolie.” Dhanush was last seen in “Kuberaa,” and is set to star in “Tere Ishk Mein.” Both actors continue to be significant figures in Tamil cinema.
How do you think the latest bomb threats will affect the lives of these prominent figures in Tamil cinema?
