In a filing before the sentencing, Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, argued for leniency. He cited accepting responsibility, his non-violent offenses, and the financial dependence of family members on him. Additionally, he highlighted his previous charitable work.

## Mother’s Sentencing

Last month, Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, received a five-year prison sentence followed by three years of probation. She expressed her remorse in court, emphasizing her intention was to support her son in a challenging industry. “I am begging for mercy for me and my son,” she said.

Both Kingston and Turner were indicted last year for a wire fraud scheme that took place between April 2023 and March 2024. Prosecutors alleged that Anderson contacted victims online to negotiate the purchase of luxury items.

According to officials, Kingston lured victims to his upscale homes in Broward County, using his celebrity status to build trust. When payments were due, they would send fake wire receipts to victims. When the promised funds failed to materialize, victims either filed lawsuits or sought law enforcement intervention.

On March 28, a jury found the mother-son duo guilty in less than four hours. Turner was immediately taken into custody while Kingston expressed concern for her well-being.
