## Scooter Braun Reflects on Taylor Swift Dispute
Scooter Braun recently shared insights about his well-known conflict with Taylor Swift regarding her master recordings. During a 90-minute interview on Danielle Robay’s podcast, “Question Everything,” he claimed that “everybody in the end won.” This conversation touched on a tumultuous chapter in the music industry, particularly the contentious purchase and eventual sale of Swift’s masters.
### Looking Back on the Past
Braun noted that revisiting the issue seems unnecessary. “Look, for me, it was six years ago. I think like going backwards and revisiting this is a waste of time,” he remarked. This interview took place in April, before Swift announced that she had acquired her master recordings back from Shamrock Holdings on May 30th.
### Clarifying Miscommunication
In his attempt to explain his side, Braun suggested that there were communication issues within Swift’s team concerning the negotiations for her masters. He expressed, “When Taylor says that she wasn’t offered the masters, the reason I was under NDA was because we were in negotiations to sell it back to her. I just choose to believe her, that maybe they didn’t tell her.”
### Regrets and Reflections
One regret Braun voiced was never having a direct conversation with Swift. He stated, “The only thing that I really regret is that it’s easy to have a monster if you never meet them.” The pair have only met a few times and have not seen each other in years.
### Addressing Swift’s Fans
Braun directly addressed Swift’s loyal fans, known as Swifties. “Hello, Swifties! They’re gonna be yelling and screaming, and it is what it is,” he noted, implying that he remains unfazed by their reactions. He added, “They made the horrible miscalculation that I care.”
### Speculations and Personal Life
When questioned about speculation regarding Swift’s song “Vigilante Shit” referencing him, Braun dismissed it. He described the notion as a “great strategy move” by Swift and emphasized his amicable relationship with his ex-wife, saying, “We don’t even use the term ‘ex’ with each other.”
Braun also opened up about a challenging period in his life, revealing a brief suicidal episode in October 2020. He clarified that this distress was linked to his divorce, not the controversy surrounding Swift. “The ups and downs of artist life, the Taylor stuff, none of that actually affected me—losing my marriage affected me,” he shared.
### Moving Forward
Currently, Braun has stepped away from the management scene entirely. He expressed that he has no plans to return to that role, regardless of the artists he could represent. “I had a great run… I had an incredible management career. I’m good,” he concluded.
With this chapter seemingly behind him, how do you think Braun’s reflections will influence his future endeavors?
