The last rites of celebrated actor Satish Shah were held in Mumbai on Sunday morning, following his passing due to renal failure at the age of 74. The funeral was attended by family, close friends, and several prominent figures from the film and television industry, especially his co-stars from the beloved sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.

Numerous notable figures from the film and television sectors attended Satish Shah’s funeral, including Jackie Shroff, Kunal Kohli, and David Dhawan. Co-stars from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, including Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, and others, also came to join in remembering Shah, alongside Uddhav Thackeray, chief of Shiv Sena (UBT).
As the morning progressed, Shah’s last rites were performed by his family at a Bandra crematorium. Emotional scenes unfolded, particularly when Rupali Ganguly was seen visibly affected as she arrived, remembering her role as the daughter-in-law in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.

Known as the ‘Comedy King’ in the 1980s, Satish Shah gained prominence through his versatile roles in shows like Ye Jo Hai Zindagi. His success continued with notable performances in series such as Filmi Chakkar and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Shah began his film career in 1976, achieving recognition with Kundan Shah’s Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, and featured in major Bollywood hits like Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Tragically, Satish Shah passed away after suddenly collapsing during lunch, according to his manager. He had been struggling with kidney complications for some time and recently underwent a kidney transplant.
