Sadhguru Critiques Yash’s Casting as Ravana in Ramayana: A Deep Dive
Sadhguru’s Thoughts on Yash as Ravana
In a recent discussion with Namit Malhotra regarding the upcoming film “Ramayana,” Sadhguru raised an eyebrow over the casting of the attractive Yash in the role of the villain Ravana.
The Casting Debate
Namit shared that casting Ravana was crucial for the project, and a star of Yash’s caliber was sought for the role. However, Sadhguru expressed his confusion about this choice. “How did Yash become Ravana? I know him very well,” he remarked.
Namit elaborated that they needed a superstar to embody such an essential character, but Sadhguru couldn’t shake off the traditional image of a villain. “Villains are usually depicted as having a blunt nose and strong build. But Yash is undeniably handsome,” he noted.
Shifting Perspectives
Despite Namit’s attempts to clarify, Sadhguru insisted, “Villains typically have a blunt nose, not a sharp one.” Namit acknowledged this perspective, promising to reconsider the traditional villain archetype as they delve into Ravana’s many complexities, including his deep devotion to Shiva.
