Sabrina Carpenter treated her fans to a delightful surprise during her headlining show at the Austin City Limits festival. On Saturday, she welcomed the legendary Shania Twain to the stage for an unforgettable duet of “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
A Heartfelt Gesture
Expressing her appreciation for her audience, Carpenter explained, “I show love in weird ways. One of the ways I show my love is by gift-giving. That’s one of my languages, and I thought it’d be fun to give you guys a little gift tonight.” She encouraged the crowd to welcome Twain, adding, “Will you please make the most noise in the world for the incredible, one and only Shania Twain?”
A Shared Musical Legacy
The performance featured Twain’s iconic 1998 single, showcasing both artists’ talents. Carpenter cheered, “Awesome. Shania Twain! Make some noise!” after their duet, reflecting the energy of the crowd.
This wasn’t their first collaboration. The pair previously joined forces for an acoustic version of “Santa Baby” in Carpenter’s Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas, where Twain portrayed Mrs. Claus.
What’s Next for Carpenter?
Carpenter will return to Austin’s Zilker Park next Saturday for her second headlining set at this two-weekend festival. Before that, she is set to make her Grand Ole Opry debut on October 7.
