Rush Expands Surprise 2026 Tour with Additional Dates

Fans of Rush are still processing the unexpected news that the legendary band will be hitting the road again in 2026. This marks their first tour since the passing of drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. The excitement just increased, as Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced an extension of their Fifty Something Tour due to overwhelming demand, adding 11 shows to their schedule.
This tour expansion includes two additional shows each in major cities such as Los Angeles, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, and Toronto, in addition to a new date in Cleveland. Mexico City will host just one performance. Now, each of the five prominent U.S. and Canadian markets will have four shows, while Cleveland will have two. This tour signifies Lee and Lifeson’s first full performances together since wrapping up Rush’s last tour in 2015, with talented drummer Anika Nilles joining them. Each performance will feature two sets, selecting from a vast repertoire of 35 songs.
Turning Point from Jam Sessions
During a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame event announcing the tour, Lee shared how casual jam sessions served as a turning point for them. “We were laughing so hard, and it was incredibly enjoyable. Playing those songs lightened our spirits,” he said.
Lifeson Feeling Revitalized
Lifeson expressed how reconnecting with the intricate music reenergized him. “It was thrilling to be challenged by that material once more,” he shared with the Cleveland audience. “As we rehearsed and played, I found myself falling in love with performing again.”
The tour kicks off on June 7, 2026, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles—the same venue where Rush concluded their tour with Peart back on August 1, 2015. Fan presales will begin Monday, with general ticket sales launching on October 17.
