Royel Otis Unveils Exciting Australian Tour for 2025

Royel Otis is set to embark on their largest Australian tour to date.

The indie-pop duo will take the stage in several major cities this October, performing at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, and Perth’s Ice Cream Factory (see full tour dates below).

Tickets for the general public will be available starting Monday, July 14th, at 10 AM local time, with a pre-sale for Frontier Members beginning on Thursday, July 10th, at the same time.

After a successful run at international festivals such as Glastonbury, Governor’s Ball, and Lollapalooza, Royel Otis will kick off their ‘meet me in the car’ tour in North America before returning home.

This tour coincides with the release of their much-anticipated second album, hickey, scheduled to drop on August 22nd via OURNESS / Capitol Records. This album follows their acclaimed debut, PRATTS & PAIN (2024).

Regarding the intriguing album title, Royel Otis explained, “…because love bites harder than any other emotion in the world.”

The announcement of their new album came shortly after the release of the lead single, “moody”, which they first teased at a sold-out show in Los Angeles in May.

When discussing the essence of “moody,” the duo—composed of Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic—stated, “It’s a song about a girl.” Co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Allen and produced by Blake Slatkin, it showcases their growth.

Maddell emphasized their creative process: “We just work together, bouncing ideas off each other. It’s always different. It’s like building a cake.”

Last year was exceptional for Royel Otis, featuring a top 10 album, a Billboard Hot 100 debut, wins at the ARIA Awards (including Best Group), and a memorable homecoming performance at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.
