Rosalía Reveals Album Details for Lux
Rosalía is excited to announce fresh insights about her upcoming album, Lux, set to be released on November 7. The talented Spanish artist has shared the album cover along with its full tracklist, through Columbia Records.
Album Collaborations
Collaborating with the London Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, Rosalía has put her heart into Lux. The album aims to capture a broad emotional spectrum, exploring themes of feminine mystique, transformation, and transcendence. It seamlessly blends intimacy with operatic grandeur, crafting an enchanting realm of sound and culture.
The album promises contributions from renowned artists like Björk, Portuguese fado singer Carminho, flamenco icon Estrella Morente, Spanish singer Silvia Pérez Cruz, música mexicana star Yahritza, and experimental musician Yves Tumor. Additionally, the boys choir Escolania de Montserrat and Cor Cambra Palau de la Música Catalana will also lend their voices to the project.
Album Structure and Track Count
Lux is structured into four distinct movements. The physical version will feature 18 tracks, while digital formats will include 15. Unique to the physical editions are songs like “Focu ‘Ranni” and “Jeanne” from MOV III, along with “Novia Robot” from MOV IV. Other notable titles include “Porcelana,” “Mio Cristo,” “Memória,” and “La Perla.”
Unique Album Announcement
Rosalía made a splash with her album announcement via a billboard in Times Square. She appeared with a delicate white veil against a soft blue backdrop, with the title "LUX" prominently displayed in a classic serif font. The release date, November 7, appeared in simple text alongside the project’s logo.
Since the release of her last album, Motomami, in 2022, Rosalía has been busy with several stand-alone singles, including “LLYM” and “Tuya” in 2023. This year has also seen her collaborate on the EP RR with Rauw Alejandro, work alongside Björk on “Oral,” and feature on tracks with Lisa and Ralphie Choo.
