Roi Roi Binale: Zubeen Garg’s Film Sees Full House Across Assam
Zubeen Garg’s Final Film Release
Zubeen Garg, a beloved figure in Assamese music and cinema, made his last appearance in the film *Roi Roi Binale*, released on October 31. The film took all available screens across Assam.
Fans gathered at theaters statewide, showing their support and paying tribute to the iconic singer. Early reports suggest that the film was met with packed audiences.
Packed Theatres Across Assam
Despite the recent passing of Zubeen in Singapore, *Roi Roi Binale* has filled theaters throughout Assam, with many locations starting screenings as early as 4:30 AM. Some theaters had up to seven shows in a single day.
In fact, screenings for other films, including *Thamma* and *Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat*, were paused for this week. The buzz surrounding the film has caused even a re-release of *Baahubali* to miss its chance at the screens.
Reports from PTI confirm that *Roi Roi Binale* maintained its packed shows across various venues in the region.
Sold-Out Tickets for the Week
All tickets for the upcoming week have been sold out, and the musical is poised to set new box office records for Assamese cinema.
In this film, Zubeen portrays a blind musician, featuring a total of 11 songs composed by him. The storyline explores the life and struggles of a musician, which eerily intersects with Zubeen’s own tragic fate.
Zubeen’s untimely death, occurring while he was swimming in Singapore on September 19, left a profound impact on his fans and the wider community. His funeral saw thousands of mourners.
To honor Zubeen’s contributions to the arts, the Assam government has pledged to allocate the state’s GST share from *Roi Roi Binale* to the Kalaguru Artiste Foundation, which he established for the benefit of underprivileged artists.
