Ridhima Pandit Shares How Diwali Affects Her Diet Choices

Ridhima Pandit shares her excitement for Diwali celebrations and her favorite festive foods.

As Diwali approaches, Ridhima Pandit expresses her enthusiasm for celebrating in a traditional Maharashtrian style. She shares, “I am heading out to buy a beautiful kandil, which signifies the beginning of the Diwali festivities. My favorite part is preparing Diwali snacks. When I was younger, I often ended up making a mess instead of helping my grandmother. However, I’ve learned a few things over the years. We prepare Maharashtrian faral, including chakli, ghoogra, and karanjya.”

The actress emphasizes the importance of indulging in festive treats during this special time. “Five days before Diwali, I completely abandon my diet. As actors, we typically try to eat healthily, but I forget all about calorie counts during this festive period. I savor our elaborate Maharashtrian lunch, which comes with amti (pickle), sweets, and so much more. Karanjya is my favorite, alongside kaju katli, gulab jamun, and jalebi,” she adds.

When it comes to home decoration, Ridhima notes, “I take charge of hanging the toran at the entrance, and we collectively put up lights. Every year, I choose new lighting options. My home is fragrant with flowers during this beautiful time.”
