Ravi Teja Reflects on Dhanush in Sir

During the promotional activities for *Mass Jathara*, actor Ravi Teja shared insights about his past involvement with the film *Sir/Vaathi*. Directors Venky Atluri and Bhanu Bogavarapu noted how Teja was initially considered for the lead role, but Dhanush ultimately took it on. Here’s what Ravi had to say.

Ravi Teja missed the opportunity to play the lead in Venky Atluri’s *Vaathi*, which was eventually played by Dhanush.

Ravi Teja Discusses Dhanush’s Role in Sir

In an interview, Venky mentioned that he initially pitched *Sir* to Ravi. However, due to scheduling conflicts, Teja was unable to join the project. Venky stated, “Actually, I pitched *Sir* to him first. He told me he was busy and to wait if I could.” Ultimately, within a few months, Dhanush became involved and when Ravi learned of this, he proudly expressed, “Don’t hesitate; he’s an amazing actor.”

When teased about his thoughts after watching the film, Ravi replied, “Nenu asalu bagonu ani feeling (I don’t think I would have suited the film at all).” However, Venky suggested that Teja could have interpreted the role differently.

Venky Atluri’s Film Journey

*Sir/Vaathi* marks Venky’s fourth directorial venture, following the success of romantic dramas like *Tholi Prema* (2018), *Mr Majnu* (2019), and *Rang De* (2021). His recent film serves as a social commentary on the commercialization of education in India. Dhanush and Samyuktha play the lead roles.

Following *Lucky Baskhar* in 2024, Venky is currently directing a new project featuring Suriya. Dhanush, recently seen in *Kuberaa* and *Idly Kadai*, is also working on multiple projects, while Ravi’s recent films did not garner much attention. *Mass Jathara*, featuring Sreeleela, is set to hit theaters on October 31.
