Rashmika Mandanna Discusses Work-Life Harmony Amid Shift Controversy
Rashmika Mandanna discusses work-life balance as an actor
Rashmika Mandanna has recently made headlines for her engagement to Vijay Deverakonda and her latest film Thamma. Currently, she is preparing for her upcoming project, The Girlfriend. Producer Sreenivasa Kumar commended her work ethic, acknowledging that she refrains from enforcing strict work-hour limits. This came amid the public discourse surrounding work hours after Deepika Padukone’s suggested 8-hour shift for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit.
Recently, Rashmika revealed that it’s been months since she had a solid 8 hours of sleep. She expressed her views on work-life balance, stating, “Glorifying overworking isn’t beneficial. I do it, and trust me, it’s unsustainable. Prioritize what works for you. Get those 8-10 hours of sleep, as it will be worth it in the long run.” She acknowledged the pressures but emphasized the need for balance.
When director Rahul Ravindran mentioned that long hours are standard in cinema, Rashmika agreed, saying, “That’s true, and I deeply respect my teams. Ideally, I would prefer a structure similar to office hours—9 to 5 or 10 to 6—so everyone can maintain their family life and personal priorities. It’s essential to think about our future well-being, including health and fitness.”
