On October 8, 2025, Rani Mukerji welcomed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Yash Raj Films (YRF) in Mumbai. The studio frequently hosts prominent figures, but the visit by the UK’s Prime Minister was particularly significant, showcasing the diplomatic ties between India and the UK. This event highlighted the growing collaboration in the film industry.
Keir Starmer’s visit aimed to enhance cultural relations and foster collaboration between the British and Indian film sectors. As he arrived amid heavy security, the visit emphasized the potential for joint film projects and cultural exchange programs.
Rani, the wife of YRF CEO Aditya Chopra, warmly welcomed Starmer, dressed in a vibrant yellow salwar suit. They engaged in an animated discussion about cinema, surrounded by iconic film posters. The British PM even explored an editing console and attended a presentation within the studio auditorium.
Later that day, Starmer was also scheduled to take part in a football showcase event organized by the English Premier League at Cooperage football ground in South Mumbai.
Yash Raj Films, one of India’s leading movie studios, was founded by the legendary Yash Chopra and is currently led by his son Aditya. The studio has produced numerous blockbuster hits, making a significant mark on Bollywood.
