Speaking at the "Celebrate Cinema 2025" festival, he reflected on the privileges of being part of a well-known film family while acknowledging the challenges he faced. Throughout his nearly two-decade career, he has proven himself as one of Bollywood’s leading talents.
Acknowledging Nepotism
During his talk, Ranbir shared, "I’m a product of nepotism, and I had a relatively easier start in life. However, I always knew that to establish my own identity, I needed to work hard." He emphasized the importance of carving out a distinct career path, stating, "My family’s successes are celebrated, but there are many failures as well, and I believe one learns just as much from failures as from triumphs."
Life in a Filmmaking Family
Ranbir also discussed his perspective on being born into a family of filmmakers. "For me, it was just a regular family life. We often had discussions, but they were of a creative nature, focusing on film scenes or song lyrics," he noted. As the son of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, and the grandson of the legendary Raj Kapoor, he is aware of the industry’s legacy.
Upcoming Projects
On the cinematic front, Ranbir was recently seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s "Animal." His upcoming projects include Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s "Love and War," where he stars alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Additionally, he will portray Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s epic adaptation of the Ramayana.
