Ramya Krishnan Remembers Soundarya: Staying True Beyond Fame
Ramya Krishnan’s Emotional Tribute to Soundarya
Recently, Ramya Krishnan was featured on Jagapathi Babu’s Zee5 talk show, *Jayammu Nischayammu Raa*. During the episode, she became visibly emotional while reminiscing about their late friend, Soundarya. The two actors shared poignant memories from their time working together, including films like *Ammoru* and *Padayappa*.
Ramya’s Struggle with Emotions
As Jagapathi prepared to discuss Soundarya, Ramya initially responded with enthusiasm. However, this quickly turned to sorrow as they watched a clip from *Padayappa*. Tears welled in her eyes, and despite her efforts to maintain composure, she couldn’t help but shed a few.
Jagapathi, noticing her distress, remarked, “We played that because we need to cherish these memories. Soundarya had a beautiful heart, just like her name.”

Later, Ramya reflected on her first encounter with Soundarya during the shoot of *Ammoru*. “I saw a beautiful child grow into an amazing person,” she shared. “She never let fame change her. She was genuinely a wonderful friend.”
Remembering Soundarya
Soundarya made a significant impact in the cinema of the 90s and acted alongside notable stars, including Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, and Rajinikanth. She gained popularity through films like *Hello Brother* and won a Filmfare award for her role in *Ammoru*.
Sadly, she passed away in a tragic plane crash in 2004 when she was just 31, shortly before her first wedding anniversary.
