Radio Free Alice Soars Higher with Latest EP ‘Empty Words’

## Radio Free Alice Releases Third EP: *Empty Words*

Naarm/Melbourne-based band Radio Free Alice has unveiled their third EP titled *Empty Words*. This latest project includes four captivating tracks, featuring the title song released earlier in March, the Peter Katis-produced “Toyota Camry,” and two fresh tracks, “Regret” and “Chinese Restaurant.” The latter two were crafted with the expertise of Ali Chant, known for his work with Dry Cleaning, Perfume Genius, and Soccer Mommy, and recorded across the vibrant cities of Bristol and London.

### Inspiration Behind “Chinese Restaurant”

Frontman Noah Learmonth shared that “Chinese Restaurant” draws from the poignant sentiment of being stuck in the past, a feeling the band grappled with during their UK tour. “Every venue had a punny name nodding to some bygone legend—places like ‘EBGBS’ (a playful take on CBGB) or ‘The Stoned Rose’. Driving around the UK in the tour van felt like wandering through the aftermath of a house party that was definitely over, but no one seemed capable of moving on from,” he elaborated.

He also mentioned, “The whole EP in some way connects to this feeling that I’ve had throughout my life—that the world is a museum for moments we didn’t even experience ourselves.”

### Quick Rise in the Music Scene

Radio Free Alice, consisting of Learmonth, Jules Paradiso, Michael Phillips, and Lochie Dowd, formed in 2020 and have quickly emerged as one of the most talked-about guitar bands in Australia. Their EP launch coincides with the conclusion of their UK tour this month, which includes a recently added spot on the Reading and Leeds Festival lineup.

### Upcoming Tours and Performances

In September, they will be heading to North America, with two sold-out headline shows in New York City and an appearance at the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta. Furthermore, they are gearing up for their performance at Melbourne’s Meredith Festival in December.

### Celebrating Success

So far, the year has been remarkable for Radio Free Alice. They made their international debut at SXSW in Austin, secured a spot on the NME 100 and Monster Children’s Bright Young Things lists, and showcased their talent at the Melbourne Fashion Festival.

*Empty Words* is a testament to their burgeoning talent and evolving sound. Are you excited to see what’s next for Radio Free Alice?
