Ravi Shankar’s Remarks on Rukmini Vasanth
During an event for Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara Chapter 1,” producer Ravi Shankar labeled Rukmini an “extraordinary” talent, expressing excitement about her involvement in Jr NTR’s film. He stated, “I have seen her perform closely, and she is extraordinary.”
However, he further commented on the search for an actress who could align with Jr NTR’s caliber. His remark that he hopes Rukmini delivers “at least 80%” of NTR’s talent sparked backlash. “We searched for months and could only find her,” he expressed, adding, “Maybe not as much as Anna, but we are hoping she can give at least 80%.”
Public Outcry Against the Comments
Fans of Rukmini Vasanth were quick to express their outrage over Shankar’s comments. One user on X (formerly Twitter) remarked, “Miru chese over action lo 10% kuda undadu,” hinting at a lack of substance in his remarks. Another added, “So every actress that worked with him is a waste?”
Rukmini’s supporters considered the remarks disrespectful. One user stated, “Why insult Rukku to uplift your hero?” while another questioned, “Is there a need to disrespect?”
