Priya Sachdev’s Lawyer Responds to Karisma Kapoor’s Kids’ Spelling Claims

In the ongoing legal proceedings concerning the estate of the late businessman Sunjay Kapur, his former partner Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have raised new allegations against their stepmother, Priya Sachdev. In response, Priya’s attorney, Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, stated that there is “no valid legal challenge” regarding Sunjay Kapur’s will dated March 21, 2025.

According to reports, the Delhi High Court was informed by Advocate Rajiv Nayar that the children have raised “a multitude of blunders” that cast doubt on the will’s authenticity. Nayar, echoing his extensive legal experience, noted that just because the will features alleged errors like incorrect spellings, it does not suffice to invalidate such a document. He emphasized that “forgery must be clear; minor mistakes do not equate to invalidation.”

During the proceedings, Nayar pointed out that the plaintiffs did not question the execution or legitimacy of the will. He emphasized:

– “This is not a probate case; you’ve not challenged the will’s execution based on your filings.”
– “In my 45 years of experience, I’ve never seen a will invalidated due to spelling errors.”

He also questioned the credibility of the arguments made by Kapoor’s children, who claim there are underlying issues with the will’s presentation.

Kiaan and Samara, the children of Sunjay and Karisma, have contended that their father’s will has been forged and that they have been wrongfully excluded from his estate. In a separate motion, Priya requested permission to present her late husband’s assets to the court in a sealed cover instead of making them public.

Sunjay Kapur, the chairman of Sona Comstar, passed away in June in London from a heart attack while playing polo. He was previously married to Karisma from 2003 to 2016 and later wed Priya in 2017.
