Prasanth Varma’s Feud with HanuMan Producer

Prasanth Varma recently addressed rumors regarding his conflict with the producer of HanuMan, Niranjan Reddy. This ongoing dispute has drawn significant attention within the Telugu Film Chamber.

A few days back, reports emerged indicating that several producers, including those from M/S Primeshow Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., had lodged complaints against Varma, accusing him of taking advances without delivering the corresponding films. In light of this, the director chose to speak out.

Producer Niranjan Reddy has accused director Prasanth Varma of taking ₹20 crore in advance and not delivering films.

Varma firmly rejected all accusations, insisting that certain media outlets portrayed a one-sided version of his response to the complaints.

Director’s Response to Allegations

He took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his concerns about the selective reporting, stating that the ongoing dispute is currently under consideration by the Telugu Film Chamber and should not be publicly debated until a resolution is reached.

In his statement, he noted, “Any attempts to leak internal documents or financial agreements are not only inappropriate but also potentially harmful to the ongoing discussions.” He urged the media to abstain from further speculation until an outcome is officially announced, asserting that the claims against him are “baseless” and “false.”

Allegations from HanuMan’s Producer

Producer K Niranjan Reddy, in a letter to the Telugu Film Producers Council, alleged that Varma failed to fulfill agreements despite significant advancements paid to him. Reddy stated that Varma had undertaken to work on multiple films post-HanuMan but did not follow through.

The complaint reveals that the production house had invested ₹15 lakh towards a teaser for Adhira, with subsequent payments totaling ₹2 crore and more to be claimed for the upcoming projects.

Reddy claimed that after accepting the funds, Varma suddenly informed him that another director, Vijay Binni, would take over the Adhira project. This announcement caused considerable disruption, muddling up the planned collaborations.

Reddy is seeking ₹200 crore in compensation for alleged damages across multiple projects, alleging that Varma’s actions have significantly impacted their professional engagements.

In his formal response to the chamber, Varma asserted that despite HanuMan earning ₹295 crore globally, he received minimal remuneration post-release, and has pursued pending payments. He asserted that claims regarding amounts owed to him were exaggerated, insisting they did not reflect the actual situation.

This ongoing controversy has placed both Varma and Reddy under scrutiny in the Telugu film industry. With both sides presenting compelling narratives, it remains to be seen how this dispute will unfold. What do you think about this situation? Share your thoughts!
