With the nostalgic vibes of Y2K music, their latest track is primed to become the catchy tune you’ve been searching for! Be sure to catch their heartfelt message directed at global FOR X, especially those in India.
Introducing OX:N
How do you describe OX:N, and what inspired the name?
Jaehan: OX:N is a sub-unit representing OMEGA X. Our music aims to highlight distinct performances and vibes. The “N” symbolizes the four members using the Roman numeral IV, connecting us back to our eleven-member team.
Yechan: OX:N signifies a fresh start and feels like an extension of OMEGA X. I hope our fans perceive this unit’s activities as an exciting progression and look forward to our projects together.
Unit Formation and Dynamics
What led to the selection of Jaehan, Xen, Jehyun, and Yechan for this unit? Were there other members who wished to join?
Xen: Each member of OMEGA X is invaluable, and we always desire to engage in activities together. However, it’s challenging for all eleven of us to align our schedules due to individual commitments. Thus, the four of us felt the pull towards starting this unit since we shared a synchronous vision.
Jehyun: Instead of viewing it as anyone missing out, I see OX:N as a product of our differing paths and timings within OMEGA X. We constantly support one another and aim to devise diverse plans for the larger group based on the successes we achieve with OX:N.
Musical Style and Vibes
“YOU” has an inviting, mellow sound. When do you think is the best time to enjoy it?
Yechan: I suggest listening to “YOU” during your morning commute. Its acoustic guitar melody makes for a delightful start to your day!
Exploring Personalities in the MV
The music video showcases distinctive ‘boyfriend’ styles from each member. How do these compare to your real personalities?
Jaehan: In reality, I’m quite reserved and not overly chatty. The music video presents a more lively side of me that diverges from my usual demeanor.
Xen: While I appear playful in scenes, like dancing in the library, I am more focused and serious in my day-to-day life.
Jehyun: Cooking is not my forte, so making a waffle for the video was a fun challenge!
Yechan: I check my outfit in the video but, in reality, I prefer a casual sports jersey and sneakers.
Choreographic Intent
The dance is more intense than the song might suggest. What do you hope to convey through it?
Jehyun: We aimed to capture the essence of Y2K inspirations, akin to Justin Timberlake’s style during that era.
Yechan: The choreography may seem intricate, but it prioritizes shapes and a relaxed vibe rather than sheer power, showcasing a mature side of ourselves.
Future Steps for OMEGA X
What are the upcoming plans for OMEGA X’s music releases?
Xen: We share our fans’ anticipation for our return as OMEGA X. We are pursuing various paths currently, and hope our growth during this time is apparent.
Jehyun: OX:N initiated with the intent of allowing OMEGA X to explore varied avenues instead of halting all activities. While specific details about our next comeback are still under wraps, we continuously brainstorm ideas as a group.
Final Notes for Fans
What message do you have for your supporters?
Jaehan: OX:N eagerly awaits OMEGA X’s future, and we want to extend our gratitude to our fans, FOR X, for their unwavering trust and support.
Yechan: Specifically to our FOR X in India, thank you for your patience! Stay healthy and happy until we can meet in person. 🙂
