Navya Nanda Explains Her Decision Against Acting Despite Agastya’s Debut
Despite her iconic lineage, Navya Naveli Nanda opts for a unique path.
Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has recently opened up about her career choices during a conversation with journalist Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story. While she comes from a celebrated film family, Navya expressed her decision to carve out her own path in the realms of business and social work.

When asked if she ever considered acting, Navya candidly shared, “No, never. I get this question a lot, and I’m not sure why. My upbringing taught me to pursue what I am passionate about. I have always found my father’s work intriguing — discussing it with him was much more interesting to me.”
Despite her family’s cinematic legacy, Navya’s inclinations lie in business and social initiatives. She stated, “I do enjoy movies and music, and I follow what my family is doing closely. I appreciate the creative arts for their powerful medium, yet my passion lies in different areas.”
As an entrepreneur and social advocate, she drives Project Naveli, a non-profit dedicated to gender equality, while being active in her family’s business pursuits.
Interestingly, her younger brother, Agastya Nanda, has embraced acting, recently debuting in Zoya Akhtar’s *The Archies*. He is expected to feature next in the biographical war movie *Ikkis*.
