Kapil Sharma’s rise to fame is celebrated by Navjot Singh Sidhu, emphasizing the importance of a platform for talent to shine.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, who made a notable comeback to television this year with *The Great Indian Kapil Show*, is once again in the limelight. Sidhu Discusses Kapil Sharma’s Journey

In his reflections, Sidhu highlighted the challenges that often accompany pursuing one’s passion. “Chasing your dreams isn’t simple. Many parents and society don’t often support it. The biggest hurdle is worrying about what others think. Talent requires a platform; without opportunities, it goes unnoticed. Kapil Sharma, for instance, earned just ₹100 at Bhullar’s theatre society. When he first appeared on TV in 2006, he had no hair, a potbelly, and looked much older. Yet, when given a larger platform, his true talent shined through. Like in the IPL, some people become stars overnight due to the visibility they gain,” Sidhu said.

The Journey of Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma is one of India’s most beloved comedians and television figures. He gained national fame after winning *The Great Indian Laughter Challenge* in 2007, which set the stage for his booming career. Known for his sharp humor and impeccable timing, he created *Comedy Nights with Kapil* in 2013, which became a cultural sensation and made him a household name.

Following this success, Kapil launched *The Kapil Sharma Show* on Sony TV, where he featured Bollywood’s biggest stars and attracted millions of loyal viewers weekly. Beyond television, he has delved into films like *Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon* and *Zwigato*, with his recent project being the third season of *The Great Indian Kapil Show* on Netflix.

Reflecting on his unique style, Sidhu remarked on how his witty sayings have been embraced by fans and referred to as “Sidhuism.” He recounted an interesting instance when George Bush expressed his desire to meet him after hearing about it. “While I was in the BJP, Sardar Manmohan Singh invited me to dinner. His assistant mentioned that Bush wanted to understand ‘Sidhuism.’ When we finally met, he asked me to share an uplifting quote. I said, ‘Keep your face towards the sun, so you never have to see your shadow.’ He laughed, but I never plan these things; I just speak from the heart,” Sidhu added.
