Mohit Suri has made a stellar return to the romance genre with his film Saiyaara, becoming a significant hit in Hindi cinema. Featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film’s success has not only thrilled fans but also transformed perceptions around Suri.
During a recent session at FICCI Frames, Suri shared his experience of the film’s success. He mentioned, “When we had screenings on release day, I saw the love pouring in. I told my wife not to disturb me because everyone was calling me to share their excitement about the film.”
Mohit described how the success of Saiyaara altered the way people viewed him. “Even those who doubted me have expressed that they felt a personal victory with this film,” he remarked. He emphasized the unprecedented affection he felt from audiences and how it made him feel like an underdog celebrated rather than diminished.
Saiyaara is notable not only as Suri’s comeback but also as a significant milestone for newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The film grossed an impressive ₹570 crore globally, marking it as the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema. Prior to this, Aneet had a cameo in Salaam Venky and a lead role in the Prime Video series Big Girls Don’t Cry.
