Mohanlal shared his experience of being honored at the Army Headquarters, expressing deep appreciation for the Indian Army.
Mohanlal recently added yet another accolade to his impressive portfolio following his win of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The actor, who holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, was honored with a commendation from Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. He shared images from the memorable event on his official X account, expressing heartfelt thanks.
Mohanlal’s Moment of Pride
During the event, Mohanlal donned his Army uniform as he received the commendation letter amidst other dignitaries. In his post, he stated, “Today, I had the honour of being called by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, to the Army Headquarters, where I was awarded the COAS Commendation Card in the presence of seven Army Commanders.”
He further reflected, “Receiving this recognition as an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel is a moment of immense pride and gratitude. I am profoundly thankful to General Upendra Dwivedi, the entire Indian Army, and my parent unit of the Territorial Army for this honour and their unwavering support. Jai Hind 🇮🇳”
Support for the Armed Forces
According to a post shared by the X account of Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army), “Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) Mohanlal has been a steadfast supporter of the Armed Forces, actively contributing to causes that honor soldiers, inspire youth to join the Services, and promote awareness of the Army’s humanitarian role.”
Mohanlal has received several prestigious awards including the Padma Shri (2001), Padma Bhushan (2019), and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award (2025). Recently, he starred in the slice-of-life film Hridayapoorvam, which performed successfully at the box office and is now available for streaming on JioHotstar.
