Mike Skinner’s The Streets Set to Return to Australia in 2026
UK musical icon Mike Skinner is set to reunite with The Streets for an exhilarating return to Australia in 2026.
The announcement came on Thursday, October 16th, confirming a series of performances in March. The group will showcase their celebrated second album, A Grand Don’t Come for Free, in its entirety for the very first time in locations including Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
Celebrating a Classic Album
Originally released in May 2004, this remarkable album features some of The Streets’ most popular tracks, such as “Dry Your Eyes” and “Fit But You Know It.” It soared to #1 in the UK and the US indie charts, while also achieving #11 in Australia.
Mike Skinner reflected on his time in Australia, saying, “I spent a year in Australia when The Streets was just an idea rattling around in my head, before any of it made sense.”
He reminisced about the late nights and vibrant atmosphere, which helped shape the music that defined his journey: “All of that made its way onto my laptop and into the music that set me off on this journey.”
Anticipation for Live Shows
Skinner shared his excitement for the upcoming tour: “I’ve always loved coming back here with the band; it feels like a home away from home. The crowds are bonkers; they give as good as they get. This is the first time we’re bringing A Grand Don’t Come for Free to the stage in full. Can’t wait to get properly stuck in over in Australia.”
Presale tickets will be available starting at 10 AM local time on Wednesday, October 22nd. General sales will kick off at 10 AM local time on Friday, October 24th.
