## Lewis Capaldi on The Tonight Show
Lewis Capaldi recently took to *The Tonight Show* stage to perform his latest single, “Survive.” During his appearance, he chatted with host Jimmy Fallon about his musical comeback and the journey behind the song.
### Emotional Performance
In a heartfelt performance, Capaldi presented “Survive,” which he first introduced at Glastonbury this past June. Accompanied by a live band, this marked his return with fresh music after nearly two years. The single addresses his struggles with mental health, particularly in light of his experiences with Tourette’s syndrome.
### Discussing Glastonbury
Capaldi engaged in a conversation with Fallon about his surprise performance at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage. Having last performed there in 2023, he faced significant challenges due to his condition during the set. Following this, he made the tough decision to cancel all scheduled tour dates to prioritize his mental health. He described his return to Glastonbury as “terrifying,” highlighting the emotional weight it carried.
“In the lead-up to it I was like, ‘This is horrific. I made a terrible decision,’” Capaldi revealed. “And then I went out and it was really beautiful and lovely. It was probably the best day of my life.”
### Therapy and Future Plans
Capaldi also spoke about his collaboration with BetterHelp, an online therapy service, emphasizing how important therapy has been for him. He reflected on a “mental breakdown” he experienced on stage in 2023 and the steps he’s taken to achieve a more stable state of mind. With renewed confidence, he is now eager to perform regularly. “We’ve just announced a U.K. arena tour and an Australia arena tour,” he shared. “You can try and get tickets, but they’re sold out, baby!”
### Upcoming Music
Earlier this month, Capaldi confirmed he is working on a new EP. “I don’t know about an album, but I’m doing an EP at some point this year,” he mentioned during an appearance on *Good Morning America*. He also teased that another single is expected later this summer, followed by more music in the future.
