What Keira said
When asked about the boycott, Knightley stated, “I was not aware of that, no. I’m very sorry. We are all living in a time where we need to figure out how to coexist, right? Everyone has different opinions, and I hope mutual respect can be found.”
She has been cast as Professor Umbridge in the *Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions*, which includes a stellar ensemble featuring Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, and Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall. The first title, *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone*, is set to release on November 4 on Audible.
What is the controversy?
Recently, J.K. Rowling’s views on the transgender community have sparked significant backlash. She has faced accusations of transphobia from numerous fans and actors, among them Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe. Watson reignited this conversation during a podcast with Jay Shetty, mentioning that while she disagrees with Rowling’s opinions, she values her experiences working with the author.
