Filmmaker Karan Johar recently opened up about what it means to be the “most likeable hated person.” During a candid chat with Twinkle Khanna and Kajol on the show *Two Much*, Karan attributed much of this perception to his long-running talk show, *Koffee With Karan*. He reflected on how viewers often judge his personality based on this platform.
When questioned by Twinkle Khanna about why his public reception is so divided, Karan explained that the persona he exhibits on *Koffee With Karan* has shaped the way people see him. He described it as a carefully curated role in a “play acting” context, filled with candidness and playful banter. “The perception of my personality type comes from the show,” he stated.
Karan elaborated on how misconceptions about his character have led to trolling. “People began to believe that this is who I am, and that judgment sticks,” he added. This highlights how the show influences people’s opinions, often overshadowing his true personality.
Karan has often addressed the issue of online trolling. He remarked on a previous occasion how he chooses to view criticism as a form of engagement. “The good thing about being trolled is that, at least, they are not being indifferent,” he shared. He believes that both love and hate indicate relevance and importance in the industry.
“Even if they’re bickering about my actions, I take it as a sign that I must really be making an impact,” he concluded, showcasing his resilient spirit.
