Kantara Chapter 1’s Impressive Box Office Collection
Kantara Chapter 1, a sequel to the acclaimed 2022 Kannada film, continues to thrive at the box office. Directed by Rishab Shetty, who also stars in the film, it has successfully crossed the ₹300 crore mark within just one week of its release.
Box Office Details
As reported by Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 generated approximately ₹21.23 crore net on Wednesday, raising its total domestic earnings to ₹312.23 crore. The film debuted with ₹61.45 crore on its opening day, followed by ₹45.4 crore on Friday. Notably, it collected ₹55 crore on Saturday and ₹63 crore on Sunday.
Although weekday collections saw a slight dip, Monday and Tuesday proved fruitful with collections of ₹31.5 crore and ₹34.25 crore, respectively. Considering the original Kantara grossed ₹407.82 crore globally in its lifetime, the current film’s total earnings are eagerly anticipated.

During a recent press interaction in New Delhi, Rishab Shetty reflected on the film’s success. He stated, “We began the world of Kantara from the first film, exploring the connection between nature and humans, rooted in our folklore from coastal Karnataka.”
He emphasized his belief that regional narratives can resonate on a global scale, citing the film’s worldwide acceptance as validation of this idea. Kantara is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films, featuring performances from Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah.
