Kantara Chapter 1: Day 13 Box Office Surpasses The GOAT’s Total Domestically
Kantara Chapter 1’s Box Office Performance
Kantara Chapter 1’s Box Office Collection on Day 13: Rishab Shetty’s Kannada film is witnessing a slight slowdown in its second week yet continues to set new records. Remarkably, the movie has outperformed the lifetime earnings of Vijay’s last Tamil project, The GOAT, with just its 13-day domestic collections.
Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Earnings
Per industry reports, Kantara Chapter 1 garnered an impressive Rs 13.5 crore net in India, boosting its total domestic earnings to ₹465 crore over the first thirteen days post-release. This figure clearly surpasses the worldwide collection of Venkat Prabhu’s The GOAT, which achieved ₹457 crore during its run, and even the lifetime earnings of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3.
Despite a robust first week tally of ₹337.4 crore, the film has shown some decline during the second week’s weekday performances. For instance, it earned ₹13.35 crore on Monday, a sharp drop of over 66% compared to Sunday’s ₹39.75 crore. It’s important to monitor whether this trend continues or if the film can regain its earlier momentum.
Overview of Kantara Chapter 1
Kantara Chapter 1 serves as a prequel to the acclaimed 2022 Kannada film, which highlighted the culturally rich Bhuta Kola tradition. Rishab Shetty not only directed the movie but also stars as a tribal character named Berme. Produced by Hombale Films, this installment includes performances by Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram. Impressively, it has surpassed the ₹600 crore milestone globally since its premiere, making it the second-highest-grossing film of the year after Chhaava.
