Kantara Chapter 1: Box Office Forecast – Will It Outshine Saiyaara or Chhaava?

Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Prediction
Kantara Chapter 1 Advance Bookings
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1 is a prequel to the blockbuster Kantara, which grossed over ₹400 crore. As of the eve of its release, advance bookings have already exceeded ₹12 crore for the opening day. The Kannada version alone contributes about ₹7.50 crore, while the Hindi version is steadily climbing with ₹2 crore in advance bookings?
Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Expectations
The original Kantara was a notable pan-India success, grossing ₹162 crore net in Kannada and another ₹84 crore in Hindi, with additional earnings from Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam markets. This film is set to release in five languages simultaneously, which should boost its initial performance. Industry analysts are predicting a net opening in India upwards of ₹30 crore, with some optimistic estimates reaching as high as ₹40 crore.
Such figures could include ₹15-17 crore from the Hindi version, a significant sum, though short of initial expectations. Just a week ago, predictions hinted at a ₹25 crore opening for the Hindi edition alone, but expectations have since been adjusted downward.
A ₹35-40 crore opening for Kantara Chapter 1 would surpass every Bollywood release this year, including Saiyaara (₹22 crore) and Chhaava (₹31 crore). However, it remains behind some of the year’s major pan-India blockbusters like Pawan Kalyan’s OG (₹84 crore) and Rajinikanth’s Coolie (₹65 crore).
