Joel Madden Shares His ‘The Voice’ Australia Experience and Gratitude

Good Charlotte’s Upcoming Tour and Joel Madden’s Connection to Australia

As Good Charlotte prepares for their world tour, frontman Joel Madden has shared his heartfelt connection to Australia, which he affectionately refers to as his “home away from home.”

A Personal Connection

Madden reminisced about his experiences in the country, particularly his friendship with someone who lives near Bondi in Sydney. He hinted at humorous past incidents, including a time when he faced trouble at a hotel due to cannabis. “I stayed at his house for most of that,” he chuckled. Thankfully, he looked back fondly on that time while expressing his gratitude for not getting removed from the show due to the mishap.

The Voice and Australian Talent

His love for Australia significantly influenced his commitment to appearing on The Voice, a decision he attributes largely to his admiration for the country and its people. “I’ve always felt like Australia was home away from home,” Madden explained. He appreciates the talent of Australians, saying, “All my friends are Australian… They are incredibly talented yet often reluctant to acknowledge it.”

Scheduling Complications

Regarding the upcoming tour, Madden disclosed some challenges in finalizing dates. “It’s been too hard to get dates,” he said, noting various complications with venues. The band aims to announce the tour around the time their new record is released, hoping to play arena shows. “I think we’re gonna come as quickly as we can at the top of ’26,” he mentioned.
