Jay Som Collaborates with Hayley Williams on Uplifting Track ‘Past Lives’

H2: Hayley Williams Collaborates with Som

Som recently shared her excitement about collaborating with Hayley Williams on her debut album’s feature track. “It’s a dream come true,” she said. “I still can’t believe it happened. Hayley is one of the most gracious artists, uplifting everyone around her. We’re fortunate to experience her talent during this time.”

H3: Meeting and Recording the Song

The two artists first met in 2018 when Som opened for Paramore. They reunited in Nashville to create the song together with Steph Marziano.

Reflecting on their six-hour jam session, Som mentioned that she played her demo for Williams, who immediately expressed her love for it. “The night before, I had just come up with the melodies, and Hayley was eager to contribute,” Som elaborated. “Her beautiful ideas transformed the song, and every time I opened the session, I was anxious, feeling it wasn’t strong enough for her. We put in a lot of effort to finalize the track.”

H2: Upcoming Tour Plans

Som is preparing for her upcoming tour, starting in November. She will kick things off in Amsterdam and travel across various parts of Europe before bringing her performance to the United States later that month.
