Ismail Darbar, the renowned music director, recently shared his thoughts on his daughter-in-law, Gauahar Khan. In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, he lauded her as an exceptional mother to her and Zaid’s son. However, Ismail revealed his hesitations regarding her continuing work post-marriage and motherhood, stating that while he lacks the authority to intervene, he believes his son Zaid should have a say.
During the discussion, Ismail expressed, “I understand that Gauahar and Zaid share a wonderful relationship, and she has done an admirable job caring for their son Zehaan. Zaid often mentions how he appreciates good parenting.”
When asked if he has watched any of Gauahar’s films, Ismail replied, “I come from a family that holds traditional views about such matters. Gauahar now represents our family well, but I can’t dictate her actions. It’s Zaid who has that right. To avoid discomfort, I refrain from watching her films. If I do, I might not be able to hold my feelings back.”
Since their marriage in December 2020, Gauahar and Zaid welcomed their first child, Zehaan, in May 2023. Their second son, Farwaan, was born on September 1, 2025.
