Ice Spice Channels M.I.A. in Latest Hit “Baddie Baddie”
Ice Spice Unveils New Single "Baddie Baddie"
Ice Spice just dropped her latest single, "Baddie Baddie." The energetic track, produced by her long-time collaborator RiotUSA, samples M.I.A.’s iconic 2012 track, "Bad Girls."
A Fresh Chapter in Music
This new release marks Ice Spice’s first solo project since her December album, Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe). The deluxe version added five new songs to the original Y2K! album, featuring tracks like "Hannah Montana" with NLE Choppa and DaBaby.
Lyrics Highlighting Authenticity
In the two-minute track, Ice Spice confidently reflects on her journey, saying, “They said they wanted a bop? I was just poppin’ my shit. I ain’t even really mean to go pop.”
Collaborations and New Ventures
Since her last album release, Ice Spice has been busy collaborating. Earlier this month, she joined forces with Latto for the track "Gyatt," which put an end to speculation about a feud between them. She also made her acting debut in Spike Lee’s newest film, Highest 2 Lowest, which stars Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky.
Behind the Music
When discussing her creative process, Ice Spice shares, “I usually get into the studio and pull up some beats that I already know that I kind of vibe with. I like to just start coming up with the top line. Once I come up with the first line, I usually just move on into the hook and build slowly from there.”
With "Baddie Baddie," Ice Spice solidifies her presence in the music industry. Are you excited to hear what she drops next?
