HighSchool Unveils Their Debut Album: A Self-Titled Masterpiece

## HighSchool’s Debut Album Announcement

Melbourne’s post-punk duo HighSchool is set to release their self-titled debut album on October 31st through [PIAS] Australia.

Along with this exciting news, they’ve unveiled their newest single, “Dipped.”

### Themes and Musical Style of “Dipped”

“This track delves into luck, chance, and the concept of gambling, drawing parallels to the Greek tragedy of Achilles as a metaphor for addiction, impulse, and human vulnerability,” the duo shares. The song features a striking contrast between cold, gothic minor-key verses and a warm major-key chorus, creating a dynamic that feels both tense and euphoric. The band recorded it in Lewes and finished it at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne with the help of Aaron Dobos.

HighSchool, comprised of Rory Trobbiani and Luke Scott, performs live with Lilli Trobbiani and Lucy Lamb. Since their formation in 2021, they have developed a sound influenced by shoegaze, new wave, and post-punk. Their previous EPs, *Forever At Last* and *Accelerator*, focused on themes related to suburban life and youth.

### Touring Experience

The band has made quite an impact, performing in venues across Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America. They have toured alongside renowned acts such as Wunderhorse, Sam Fender, Provoker, and Chvrches. ### Recording Process and New Influences
